Virgin Voyages Restaurants with Menus and Photos

Virgin Voyages features a huge choice of food options at no extra charge. The ships include over 20+ restaurants ranging from sophisticated cuisine to casual bites and snacks. In this post, we list all the food available on Virgin Voyages ships, including menus, photos, and tips on what to order.

Food is a big part of any cruise experience for us, and Virgin Voyages promised that we wouldn't be disappointed with the culinary offerings. So, we wanted to put them to the test and have tried every restaurant on Virgin Voyages. We detail what's included, what's on the menu, and what you should order.

All ships in the Virgin Voyages fleet—Scarlet Lady, Valiant Lady, and Brilliant Lady—feature the same selection of dining venues and menus. So no matter which ship you are sailing on, you will find the same selection of restaurants and menus.

But first, let's get one thing out of the way—the cost. A big selling point of Virgin Voyages is that almost everything is included in the cost of the cruise. The cruise line does not believe its guests should pay more for great food and "naturally, it all had to be included within your ticket price." Therefore, all the food outlets on Scarlet Lady are complementary. There are some upcharge items on certain menus and delivery costs for room service, which we will detail later in the post.

The big difference with dining on Virgin Voyages is that all dining outlets feature unique menus, decor, and atmosphere. This is a stark contrast to the traditional cruise dining experience, which usually includes the main dining room, buffet, poolside grill, and specialty restaurants.

With so many dining outlets, we have grouped the restaurants into three categories: main restaurants, quick and casual restaurants, and room service.

Main Restaurants

All Virgin Voyages ships feature six main restaurants, each helmed by a leading chef who creates a unique menu. These restaurants are on par with specialty dining on mainstream cruise lines. Unlike a Main Dining Room, which has a menu that changes each day, the main restaurants on Virgin Voyages ships feature the same menu each evening.

All six of the main restaurants are open for dinner, with Razzle Dazzle and The Wake also open for brunch. While these restaurants are complimentary, they do require reservations, which can be made through the Virgin Voyages app or by contacting sailor services. We recommend making reservations as soon as possible, as they tend to fill up quickly.

Extra Virgin

Extra Virgin is an Italian trattoria that serves regionally-inspired food punctuated by fresh, handmade pasta. The menu features hearty Italian classics that everyone will love. Be sure to leave plenty of room for your dinner as the portions are large and the courses plentiful.

We loved the decor and the overall experience here. The menu offers hearty and filling dishes with generous portions and rich flavors. Our favorite course was the Affogato, which is served tableside. This delightful dessert consists of scoop gelato "drowned" with a shot of hot espresso and a choice of toppings such as nuts.

Razzle Dazzle

Razzle Dazzle features a bold and wacky interior that gives the feeling of stepping into a photoshoot. The menu describes itself as "Vegan forward," but don't let this put you off. There are plenty of vegetarian and meat options to choose from, and each dish is a delightful twist on a classic recipe, presented with bright, colorful, and Instagram-worthy flair.

For dinner, we highly recommend trying the braised whole cauliflower. Despite its initial impression of being bland, it's actually very well seasoned and flavorful.

Razzle Dazzle is also open for brunch, offering a unique mix of breakfast and dinner classics with a twist. Be sure to leave room for brunch, as the portions are huge. Don't miss out on the rainbow churros, avocado on toast, and the watermelon pizza – they are perfect for sharing.

Gunbae Korean BBQ

If you're a fan of hands-on meat-grilling and soju drinking, the Gunbae Korean BBQ is a must-visit. The experience kicks off with an interactive and fun drinking game with your service crew, including a shot of soju. The restaurant's lively atmosphere is bustling with energy.

The menu features a wide array of small dishes, both meat and vegetarian options, all cooked at your table. If you're unsure what to order, just ask your server for recommendations.

We recommend trying a bit of everything here! It's an incredibly fun experience, especially when shared with a group of friends. If you're in a small group, you might end up sharing a table with others – it adds to the communal spirit of the place.

Pink Agave

Pink Agave is a modern Mexican restaurant inspired by the vibrant street food scene of the capital city. The warm and intimate decor sets the tone for an enjoyable dining experience. As the evening progresses, the atmosphere and music liven up, making it even more enjoyable.

The menu offers a contemporary take on traditional Mexican dishes, with each dish bursting with fresh and flavorful ingredients.

We recommend starting with the guacamole and chips, followed by the delicious corn starter and don't miss out on the indulgent chocolate tacos!

The Wake

The Wake exudes sophistication, nostalgia, and a cool vibe, evident from the moment you descend the grand staircase reminiscent of old New York City steakhouses. It captures the essence of the Mad Men era, with a touch of gender equality and less cigar smoke.

Please note that some items on the menu may have an additional charge.

We personally enjoy The Wake for brunch over dinner. The avocado benedict, steak and eggs, and apple tartan are absolutely delightful choices.

The Test Kitchen

Inspired by Escoffier's Ma Cuisine, The Test Kitchen resembles a laboratory-like eatery. You can choose to dine with a view of the kitchens or at the bar, observing the crew prepare your meals. The menu presents Heston Blumenthal-like creations, with unusual recipes and preparation techniques. The whole experience follows a set menu, but you can specify any allergies or request substitutions.

Additionally, you have the option to choose a wine pairing or cocktail pairing with each dish for an extra charge.

We highly recommend giving this place a try! Although it may seem adventurous, the dishes are surprisingly flavorful and satisfying. Keep in mind that not every dish will suit everyone's taste, but that's part of the experience. For a truly elevated experience, we suggest opting for the wine tasting – we found it more enjoyable than the cocktail tasting.

The Test Kitchen does not have a set menu and it changes regularly. We recommend asking for the menu onboard the ship to see what you will be served on your sailing.

Quick and Casual Restaurants

These venues are, as the name suggests, more casual than the main restaurants and do not require reservations. The experience is less formal and much quicker, but the food served is just as good as the main restaurants.

The Dock House

The Dock House is located at the aft of the ship and is open for lunch and dinner. You can choose to dine in the comfortable indoor space, at the bar, or outdoors. The venue is very laid-back and chilled. You can help yourself to one of the pre-made salads inside, choose from a selection of pre-made small dishes, or order something fresh from the grill.

We recommend getting a bit of everything here. It's a great option for a light lunch with a glass of wine or a cocktail.

Pizza Place

For a delightful pizza experience, head to The Pizza Place, where tasty pizzas and fresh salads are served for lunch and dinner. Each pizza is made to order, and you can create your own bespoke pizza or choose from a set menu. Despite its smaller size, the restaurant boasts a spacious outdoor seating area, perfect for enjoying the sunshine. It's a fantastic spot for a satisfying lunch, a lighter dinner, or a late-night snack after drinks. The selection of pizzas changes, but rest assured, they are all fantastic. Don't overlook the salads either, and if you prefer something simpler like a cheese pizza, they can accommodate that for you too.

Lick Me Till… Ice Cream

Located at the center of the ship in The Roundabout, Lick Me Till… Ice Cream is a cheeky and fun ice cream parlor serving premium ice creams in a variety of flavors. You can choose from a funky colored cone or a cup, and the best part is that all ice creams are complementary. The flavors change daily, making it a perfect spot for repeat visits. We indulged here every afternoon and were never disappointed. The ice creams not only look good, but they taste absolutely delightful too.

Sun Club Cafe

The Sun Club Café is a quick service counter situated outside near the pool area. It offers Hawaiian poke bowls with marinated tuna, chicken, or salmon served over veggies or rice. Unfortunately, due to bad weather during our sailing, we missed the chance to try it out.

Unfortunately, we didnt sample this on our cruise as it was closed.

The Galley

The Galley on Virgin Voyages is dynamic food hall that houses over eight food outlets, each presenting a unique menu tailored to different times of the day. This is a modern take on a buffet more like bustling food hall you'd find in a mall or market.

The food is always fresh, and many items are made to order. Simply find a seat, and a friendly crew member will bring your meal to you when it's ready.

The Galley serves a breakfast menu in the morning and switches to a different menu for lunch and dinner in the afternoons. Additionally, the Diner and Dash remains open 24 hours a day, though with a limited menu during the early hours.

The Galley includes;

  • Noodle Around - Ramen and miso soup

  • Bento Baby - Japanese breakfast, bento boxes and sushi.

  • The Sweet Side - Cakes, desserts and treats.

  • Well Bread - Bread, flatbreads and pastries.

  • Diner & Dash - 24 Hour American Diner serving American classic breakfasts, sandwiches and burgers.

  • Hot off the press - Breakfast sandwiches, toasties and paninis.

  • Let’s Taco About It - Breakfast burritos and tacos.

  • The Daily Mix - Serves yoghurts, mueslis and cereal for breakfast and made-to-order salads for lunch and dinner.

  • To Go - Fridges with grab and go items for breakfast and lunch.

The Galley can get quite crowded, especially during breakfast. If you prefer a quieter spot, you can opt to sit in the nearby Gunbai, which is overspill seating for breakfast and lunch. However, we did encounter some challenges with food delivery to Gunbai.

Among the highlights, we found the morning pastries to be exceptionally delightful – they are freshly baked and absolutely delicious. The Impossible Burger and salad bar also impressed us with their flavor and quality.

Room Service

Virgin Voyages offers room service 24 hours a day, with a breakfast menu available from 5 AM to 11 AM and a Daytime menu from 11 AM to 5 AM. You can also order both alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks.

While all room service food is complimentary, there is a $5 delivery charge. However, here's a handy tip – if you order anything with a cost, such as a $3 drink, the delivery fee is waived.

We found Room Service to be particularly enjoyable for breakfast, as it spared us the need to leave our room while providing us with fresh coffee and snacks delivered right to our door. Additionally, we appreciated the environmentally-conscious packaging, with reusable tubs and a thermos to keep our coffee hot!
